Electrical Project Documentation & Estimation
Course modules
01Define the project documentation scope
Map the documents needed for a fictional electrical project and identify their owners. Separate documentation support from design decisions requiring qualified approval.
02Organise drawings and revision records
Build a sample drawing register with references, versions and review status. Record missing information and clarification requests without inventing technical specifications.
03Prepare sample quantity schedules
Extract quantities from instructor-provided teaching examples and record the measurement basis. Check units, duplicates and exclusions before preparing a draft schedule.
04Build a traceable cost estimate
Apply illustrative material and labour rates to a checked sample quantity schedule. Document assumptions, allowances and rate dates without presenting the exercise as a firm quotation.
05Use AI for documentation support
Draft non-sensitive summaries and clarification lists from fictional project information. Verify every technical detail against the supplied sources and route uncertain items for qualified review.
06Review and hand over the estimate
Check calculations, source references and revision consistency using a review checklist. Prepare a handover pack with limitations, outstanding queries and approval responsibilities.
