Excel for Electrical Load Schedules
Course modules
01Define the schedule and its boundaries
Map the fields needed for an instructor-provided fictional load schedule. Separate spreadsheet preparation from engineering assumptions and approvals requiring qualified judgement.
02Structure sample inputs and units
Organise equipment references, sample ratings and units into consistent tables. Record source references and flag missing or conflicting inputs for review.
03Build transparent calculation formulas
Implement instructor-supplied calculation methods with clear cell references. Test formulas against worked teaching examples without inventing design factors.
04Validate totals and assumptions
Check duplicates, missing values and summary totals in the sample workbook. Label assumptions and keep any supplied factors traceable to their teaching source.
05Prepare clear summaries and revisions
Create readable schedule summaries with dates, versions and review status. Protect formula cells where appropriate and document how updates should be checked.
06Complete a reviewed workbook handover
Present a sample schedule with a calculation-check log and outstanding queries. Define reviewer responsibilities and limits before any workplace use.
