Course modules

01Define the brief and audience

Turn a fictional business request into a clear design brief and intended message. Choose suitable formats and identify what the design needs to communicate.

02Build readable layouts

Practise hierarchy, alignment, spacing and colour consistency in sample designs. Check legibility and contrast rather than relying on decoration alone.

03Create business graphics in Canva

Prepare sample social posts, promotional graphics and presentation slides. Adapt layouts to their intended formats and review consistency across the set.

04Use AI for ideas and drafts

Explore AI-assisted concepts and draft wording for fictional briefs. Check accuracy and suitability, and avoid uploading confidential client material.

05Review assets and export files

Check asset sources, required permissions and applicable tool terms before sharing work. Practise suitable export choices and inspect the finished files for errors.

06Assemble a sample portfolio

Present a small coordinated design set with a brief explanation of your decisions. Label practice work honestly and prepare a quality-check handover checklist.
