Healthcare Data Analysis & Dashboards
Course modules
01Define the reporting question
Choose an administrative question and identify suitable measures using fictional examples. Distinguish operational reporting from clinical interpretation and define the limits of the analysis.
02Organise and check sample data
Structure fictional records with clear fields, dates and categories. Identify missing values, duplicates and inconsistent entries while preserving the original dataset.
03Calculate useful operational measures
Summarise sample appointment volumes, attendance and task-completion figures. Check calculations and denominators before comparing periods or groups.
04Explore trends and limitations
Compare patterns across fictional periods and categories using suitable summaries. Recognise missing context and avoid treating associations as proof of cause or clinical significance.
05Build a clear dashboard
Select appropriate charts and arrange a compact operational dashboard. Use readable labels, clear date ranges and explanations of what each measure represents.
06Validate and communicate findings
Check source figures, calculations and dashboard updates before presenting results. Prepare a concise report describing findings, limitations and questions for the appropriate reviewer.
